Literary Arts Festival of Homagama Divisional Secretariat was held on 30.11.2021 at the auditorium of the Divisional Secretariat, Homagama ,under the patronage of Ven. Madowita Vajira Buddhi Thero, Deputy Chairman of the Colombo District Sasanarakshaka Balamandala, Hon. Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, Hon. Minister of Commerce, Mr. Sampath Jayasinghe, and Mr. Pradeep Yasaratne District Secretary Colombo.
The Literary Arts Festival relevant to the Homagama Division was held in accordance with the health guidelines, taking into consideration the epidemic situation under the guidance and direction of. Divisional Secretary Mr. B.A. D. Chinthaka
Awards and certificates were presented in recognition of the winners of the regional literature competitions, and the Homagama Divisional Secretarit office bearer Nadeeshani Peliarachchi won the Best Actress Award for her performance in the short film Mutton at the Golden Lemmer International Film Festival in Portugal. A special award ceremony was also held here.
Dr. Asela Abeysundera delivered a special lecture on "Life and Art" on the occasion.
Invitees including Members of Parliament representing the Pradeshiya Sabha who participated in this Literary Arts Festival and Divisional Secretary Mr. B.A. D. Chinthaka, Assistant Divisional Secretary Mr. BS Kekulawala, Accountant P.R. Kuruppuarachchi Assistant Director (Planning) Mrs. G.G. Nilanka S Sampath, Government Officials, students who won literary competitions, artists, members of art institutes, residents of the area participated.
Under the guidance and direction of Mr. B.A. D. Chinthaka Divisional Secretary, the Literary Arts Festival of the Homagama Divisional Secretariat was organized by the Cultural Section.
