According to a concept of the Colombo District Secretary / Government Agent Pradeep Yasaratne, the "Nena Mini" Scholarship Grant Program in the Homagama Divisional Secretariat Division of the "Nena Mini" Sponsorship Program implemented in the Divisional Secretariat Divisions of the Colombo District was conducted by the Divisional Secretary's Office on May 24.
Sixty-seven (67) children from economically disadvantaged families were awarded scholarships on this day and in parallel, five (5) economically disadvantaged families were provided with bags of dry food items, Awarding of certificates to the sponsors of the scholarships, Donation of School Equipment to the District Secretary by the Pre-School Superintendents of the Division to the "Book Pool" established by the Divisional Secretariat Children's Unit to cater to the educational needs of the children of the economically disadvantaged families, "Book Pool" Passengers also handed over school equipment to a school student under the patronage of the District Secretary and with the participation of the Staff Officers of the District Secretariat and the Divisional Secretaries of the Colombo District.
Scholarship recipients, their guardians, sponsors of the scholarships, office bearers were also present at the occasion.
This "Nena Mini" Scholarship Program was organized under the guidance and guidance of Homagama Divisional Secretary Mr. B.A.D. Chinthaka and Assistant Divisional Secretary Mr. B.S.Kakulawala with the hard work and dedication of the officers of the Office Social Services Division.
