This time again in a grand manner at Homagama. . . .
The Homagama Regional Literary Arts Festival which was jointly organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs, Homagama Divisional Secretariat and the Cultural Council in conjunction with the National Literary Arts Festival was held in the office auditorium recently.
Under the chairmanship of Colombo Additional District Secretary Mr. Sampath Idangoda, with the participation of government officials, expert popular artists, school children, office officials and the community, this event was colored by the literary speech of veteran and award-winning writer Mr . Mahinda Prasad Masimbula.
Veteran performer Ms. Damayanthi Fonseka, veteran writer Mr. Jayaratne Ula Kodippili, and veteran journalist Nandi Aluthge Ratnaweera were recognized at this year's literature festival with the Homagama Vibhuti Prasada Pranaam, which is given in recognition of their outstanding contribution to the art field.
Many artistes including popular actors Anuruddhaka Padukkage, Upesha Swarnamali, Sulochana Weerasinghe, Rukshana Dissanayake, Samantha Kumara Gamage participated in the Kalayathana Film Festival's Art Mastering Music Concert.
Mrs. Sujani Madhushika Hettiarachchi, Mr. Nilanka Navod Siriwardena and Mrs. Kumuduni Chandraraji Mudalige, who worked in the office and who presented talent at the national level and achieved national level achievements, were also recognized at this event.
Prizes and certificates were awarded to the winners who presented their works for the literary competition held concurrently with the Regional Literary Festival and with the guidance and direction of the Divisional Secretary and the Assistant Divisional Secretary, the Homagama Divisional Literary Arts Festival was a success with the organizational strength of the office culture section chief and other officers.
