Under the theme of "A better life through hospitality", the International Elderly Day celebration was organized by the Homagama Divisional Secretariat's Social Services Division and the Regional Elderly Council in a grand manner at the Homagama Madhya Maha Vidyalaya Auditorium recently.
For this event which was presided over by Mrs. Sevwandi Hettiarachchi, Director of Social Services of the Western Province, Homagama Divisional Secretary Mr. B.A.D.Chinthaka, Assistant Regional Secretary Mr. Chamal D.Thenuwara, Deputy Director Planning Nilanka Mrs.N.Sampath, Accountant Mr. Pubudu Kuruppuachchi and invited guests and the Detu citizen community participated in this program.
The ceremony was made more beautiful by the singing and dancing of the Detu citizen community full of artistic talent residing in the division, and the winning team members who won in the dance and singing sections of the Western Provincial Senior Design Competition were also recognized on this occasion.
