Samurdhi Movement completes thirty (30) years Samurdhi Movement completes thirty (30) years Samurdhi Special Housing Program implemented with the financial contribution of the Samurdhi Housing Lottery Fund Under the "Ran Vimana" housing program, the house built for the family of Mrs. Nisansa Kumudumal, who was abandoned by her husband, a male child who is studying, an elderly mother and father, and who was without a permanent home, was handed over to the homeowners at No. 503/01/03, Pitipana South, Homagama, in the Pitipana Samurdhi Zone of the Homagama Divisional Secretariat Division. The meeting was held on the sixteenth (16) of July under the patronage of the Honorable Chairman of the Committee, Member of Parliament Anura Panagoda, Pradeshiya Sabha Member Nandapala Dassanayake, Colombo District Samurdhi Director A.G.S. Asoka Kumara and Homagama Divisional Secretary B.A.D. Chinthaka.
The construction of this house, worth about twenty rupees, was carried out from the ground level by Mrs. Priyangani Athukorala, the Samurdhi Development Officer of Suwapubudugama, with the financial contribution of seven hundred and fifty thousand rupees (750,000/=) from the Samurdhi Housing Lottery Fund on a six (6) perches land donated by a relative, the amount of one hundred and sixty thousand rupees (160,000/=) earned from the anti-smoking and anti-drug flag sale program in the year 2024, and the assistance of donors in the area.
