The foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of a new service building on a land donated to the government by the Kithulahena Funeral Aid and Welfare Society, fulfilling the need for a service building that had been lacking until now, took place at 10.15 am on 18.09.2025.

An amount of Rs. 1.5 million has been allocated for this project, which is implemented with the aim of providing the necessary facilities for clients to avail the services of government officials under one roof and improving the infrastructure of the community.

Hon. Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation Engineer Janitha Ruwan Kodituwakku, along with Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman Kasun Ratnayake, former Chairman Ruwan Prabodha Peiris, Pradeshiya Sabha Members Sukhith Hapuarachchi and Member Priyanka Damayanthi, Homagama Divisional Secretary B.A.D Chinthaka, Deputy Director (Planning) Nilanka Sampath, Administrative Grama Niladhari Ruwanthilaka, Technical Assistant Officer Iroshini Walpola and Mattegoda Police OIC R M M S Indika Kumara and several police officers participated in this event as guests.

The program, which was held with the participation of government officers attached to the Kithulahena Grama Niladhari Division, namely Grama Niladhari Kumara Rupasiri, Development Officer Wasantha Lal, Samurdhi Development Officer Nishantha Paranamanna, Agricultural Research and Production Assistant K L N W Liyanage, Public Health Inspector DMU Sandeepa, officers and members of community organizations including the Clean Sri Lanka Committee, Senior Citizens Society, Samurdhi Society, Village Development Society, National People's Power Movement Siddamulla Divisional Council, and many members of the community in the division, was organized by the Kithulahena Clean Sri Lanka Rural Committee under the supervision and instructions of the Divisional Secretary, and the Divisional Development Officer and Grama Niladhari coordinated the program.
