The door-to-door awareness program on mediation and community productivity organized with the aim of creating a better living condition for the community was held on 18-08-2023 based on Henawatta and Ovitigama divisions.
Here, going to the families with identified conflicts and referring them to mediation, conducting relevant awareness and facilitating the settlement, conducting investigations, distributing pamphlets, informing the government officials of the domain and informing the community leaders related to the field of mediation.
Along with the productivity subject, activities such as empowering the economy through increasing household productivity, horticulture inspection and necessary guidance to eliminate mosquito population were carried out.
About 25 beneficiary families were able to provide these services and Henawatta Economic Development Officer Mr. Navod Siriwardena and the Chairman of Henawatta Elderly Society participated in this event. Resourcefulness for this program was provided by Office Conciliation Officer Himali Katugampala and Income Officer Ms. Kamani Dias.
