The "Miyuru Kalpana" musical program organized by the Cultural and Art Affairs Division of the Homagama Divisional Secretariat to commemorate the 83rd birth anniversary of the veteran musician, the late Sarath Dassanayake, was successfully held on 13-08-2025 at the Homagama Divisional Secretariat Auditorium.
In order to discuss the musical practice and uniqueness of musician Sarath Dassanayake, who made an unparalleled service to the Sinhala music industry and paved the way for a positive revolution in it, renowned art critic and editor-in-chief of the Sarasaviya Cinema newspaper, Dr. Nuwan Nayajith Kumara, renowned and award-winning musician Gayan Ganakadhara, and Dassanayake's second son, renowned musician Ranga Dassanayake, were invited to provide resources.
A number of songs from various genres, including film songs, teledrama songs, simple songs, folk songs and children's songs composed by Sarath Dassanayake, were sung with great enthusiasm.
