In the Divisional Secretariat of Homagama, a special career guidance program organized for the children who appeared for the G.E.C. (A/L) examination in the year 2024 was held at the auditorium of the Divisional Secretariat of Homagama recently.
The program was organized by the Divisional Secretary's Guidance Office Skill Development Officers and Human Resource Officers.
The students were informed about the current importance of vocational training to start the career path more effectively after the G.E.C. (A/L) examination, and registration of students for government and semi-government training institutes was also done here.
Assistant Divisional Secretary Chamal D. Thenuwara, Colombo District Coordinator of Manpower and Insurance Department Mr. Ananda Wijekoon and Godagama Technical College, Vocational Training Authority, Maharagama National Apprenticeship and Industrial Training Authority, Sri Lanka Textile and Garment Institute, Sri Lanka Tourism and Hotel Management Institute, Lanka Ashok Leyland Institute ,Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation participated in this program which was headed by Homagama Divisional Secretary Mr. B. A. D. Chinthaka, Counselors of the institutes participated in this event.
Along with this, the foreign employment development officers of the office also informed about the important issues affecting foreign employment.
