The government intervened at a time when papaya farmers in the Hambantota district could not sell their papaya harvest due to the third outbreak of the Covid epidemic and the distribution of the papaya fruits to the low income people free of charge.
9000 kgs (6000 kgs of papayas) received by the Homagama Divisional Secretariat under the patronage of the Colombo District Secretary / Government Agent Pradeep Yasaratne were handed over to the low income people in 27 Grama Niladhari Divisions on 02.06.2021.
Under the supervision of Administrative Grama Niladhari Ruwan Thilaka on the instructions of Homagama Divisional Secretary B.A.D.Chinthaka.
