An eye and medical clinic for the senior citizens of Homagama Divisional Secretariat was recently held at Sanasa Samiti Hall in Mattegoda. In addition to the eye and medical clinic, awareness was also given on protection from non-communicable diseases, proper food consumption and proper exercise.

 

Seventy-five (75) people were given glasses and eighteen (18) adults diagnosed with cataracts were referred to cataract removal clinics.

The program was organized by the Social Services Department of the Divisional Secretariat with the support of HelpAge Sri Lanka Institute and Matthegoda "Damsara" Senior Citizens Organization on the advice of the Divisional Secretary Mr. B.A.D Chinthaka and Assistant Divisional Secretary Mr.B.S Kekulavala.
