Three children residing in Homagama Divisional Secretariat, who have not been sent to school for about a year, were sent back to school on 19-01-2023 with the intervention of the Divisional Secretariat.
Out of these three children, two children should have been enrolled in grade 1 in 2022 but have not been sent to school due to changes in residence and lack of birth certificates, and the other child should be studying in grade 3 by now but has not been sent to school for 2 years.
The director of the non-formal unit of the zonal office, the project officer, the children's club patron supported them to go to school again for formal education and under the supervision of Homagama Regional Secretary, on the advice of the Assistant Regional Secretary, Child Rights Promotion Officer Organized by Mrs. B.V.S. Tejanthi.
