The distribution of school exercise books to 197 children of the prosperous and low-income families who are members of the Homagama Samurdhi Community Root Organizations in the year 2023 who will be studying in the fifth grade in the year 2023 was done recently at the auditorium of the Divisional Secretariat with the help of the Divisional Secretary Mr. B. A. D. Chinthaka.
The financial value of the exercise book sets that were given on this day was 394,000 rupees and these school exercise books were made with the financial support of donors, Samurdhi Community Foundation Organizations, Meegoda, Homagama, Pitipana, Mattegoda, Polgasovita Samurdhi Community Foundation Bank and Homagama Samurdhi Community Foundation Bank Society.
Along with the program of providing exercise book sets, an awareness program for children about developing "memory strength" was conducted with the resources of Mr. Terence Athukorala, Counseling Officer of the Divisional Secretariat.
Samrudhi Community Root Bank Society Manager Mrs. Sanjeevani Wevelwala, Headquarter Samurdhi Manager Mrs. T.G Sriani, Field Zone Assistants of the five Samurdhi Zones belonging to Homagama division, school children and members of community root organizations joined this event.
This program was organized jointly by the Samurdhi Social Development Division and the Samurdhi Community Root Organization Division on the advice of the Divisional Secretary Mr. B. A. D. Chinthaka.
