In Homagama Divisional Secretariat Division, Panagoda Town, in the division of Grama Niladhari, a daughter of a low-income family was able to become fit for her sports activities through the intervention of the Sports Officer and the Economic Development Officer of the division.
- K. D. Hasini Vimansa's daughter, who is studying in grade 10 of Panagoda Parakrama Vidyalaya, won the first and second place in the regional tournament in 100m and 200m running events, and problematic situations arose due to the lack of a pair of spice shoes to compete in the provincial competition.
These donations were made to her by the Divisional Secretary on 2023-09-22 through the intervention of the Economic Development Officer and the Sports Officer of the Panagoda City Division, with the help of Mr. Manikkam, a well-known Colombo businessman.
