The "Youth Path" Leadership Camp, jointly organized by the Homagama Divisional Secretariat and Amadham Dhamma School, was held at the Jalthara Vintage Park Community Hall grounds recently.
The inauguration was held under the patronage of Homagama Assistant Divisional Secretary Chamal D.Thenuwara, and more than 70 children from the area participated in this training camp. This program was organized to provide a helping hand to overcome life as children in the face of various situations and challenges in the future world.
For this, the resources of the two Child Rights Promotion Officers of the Divisional Secretariat, the Sports Officer, the Youth Services Officer and the Youth Services Officer of the National Youth Services Council, Mr. Neil Kathriarachchi, and Mr. Vihanga Sandeepa, an Edinburgh Award-winning, outgoing leadership coach, as well as Mr. Rasika Bandara, an entrepreneurship consultant, were provided.
This program was made more colourful by a number of activities designed to develop the knowledge, attitudes and skills of the children, as well as a night bonfire show and a musical night.
With the sponsorship of several institutions in the area, this program was organized and coordinated by the Small Business Development Officer of the office, Mrs. Thusanthi Fernando, and the Grama Niladhari, Economic Development Officer and other officers of the division.
