With the aim of controlling the spread of dengue and chikungunya diseases that are spreading rapidly these days, a mosquito breeding site inspection and awareness program was conducted in Mattegoda East Grama Niladhari Division of Homagama Divisional Secretariat Division on 14.07.2025.
This program was implemented covering the Bandaranayakepura area of Mattegoda East Division by inspecting and raising awareness in homes, business places and religious places.
The Divisional Public Health Inspector E.D.P.P. Vidarshana, Family Health Service Officer N.P. Jayasuriya, Grama Niladhari H.M.I. Anuradha, Community Police Officer D.S.P. Wanigasekera, Samurdhi Development Officer R.M. Katri Arachchi, along with students of the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Colombo, field officers of the Mosquito Control Unit and a group of voluntary society members participated in this, while Development Officer D.S. Kumari coordinated the program.
