With the objective of discussing matters related to the disaster situation that arose within the Homagama Divisional Secretariat Division due to the “Dithwa” cyclone, a Divisional Coordination Committee meeting organized by the Planning Division of the Homagama Divisional Secretariat was held on 03.12.2025 at 2.00 p.m. at the auditorium of the Homagama Divisional Secretariat.

The meeting was attended by the Hon. Chairman of the Homagama Coordination Committee, Mr. Aruna Panagoda; the Hon. Deputy Minister of Ports and Aviation, Mr. Janitha Kodithuwakku; the Hon. Member of Parliament, Mr. Susanta Dodawatta; the Hon. Chairman of the Pradeshiya Sabha along with other council members; the Divisional Secretary; the Deputy Director of Planning; other government officials; as well as members of the public.

This meeting was organized and coordinated by officers of the Development Division under the guidance of the Divisional Secretary.

Construction work on the house of Ms. Ranjika Perera, a resident of Kirigampamunuwa, Mattegoda, was ceremonially commenced at an auspicious time on 05/12/2025 under the Samurdhi Housing Development Program.

For the construction of this house, a grant of Rs. 1 million has been provided by the Samurdhi Department, and it is also expected to obtain support and assistance from local residents.

The construction activities of this house are being coordinated by Ms. Dhammika Pushpakumari, the Samurdhi Development Officer of the Kirigampamunuwa GN Division.

The foundation-laying ceremony was graced by the Chief Incumbent of Kirigampamunuwa Purana Viharaya and the Venerable Thero from Kandegale Bodhirukkarama Viharaya. The event was also attended by the Mattegoda Samurdhi Zone Manager, the Bank Society Manager, the Divisional Development Officer, and members of the local community.

All construction activities are being carried out under the guidance and supervision of Divisional Secretary Mr. B. A. D. Chinthaka and Assistant Divisional Secretary Mr. Chamal D. Thenuwara.
