In conjunction with International Elders' Day, the Homagama Regional Elders' Council declared an Elders' Flag Day on 2025.10.04 under the theme "A Help for the Elderly".

The inaugural event of the Flag Day began at the Habarakada Watta Community Hall grounds and later the flag sale took place throughout the area.

The proceeds from the flag sale are to be used to make the future work of the Habarakada Watta Upeksha Senior Citizens' Society a success.

This program was organized and coordinated by the board of officers of the Upeksha Senior Citizens' Society, its membership, government officials attached to the ward and all the society officers of the ward, its members and the rural community.

The ceremony to celebrate World Elders Day, organized by the Diyagama East Grama Niladhari and the Elder organization, was held successfully on 11.10.2025 at the Diyagama East Seva Piyase.

The ceremony was successfully concluded with the participation of the Social Service Officer and the Grama Niladhari of the Homagama Divisional Secretariat with the rural community.

A program to raise awareness among schoolchildren on minimizing the health risks associated with plastic use was conducted on October 15, 2025, at Godagama Subharathi Maha Vidyalaya. The program was carried out with the resource contribution of Mrs. R. M. D. Rathnayake, Colombo District Health Education Officer, and the Chief Public Health Inspector of Battaramulla.

The event was organized by the Environmental Division of the Divisional Secretariat Office, under the guidance of the Divisional Secretary of Homagama.

Organized by Diyagama East Grama Niladhari Mrs. R.M.D.G.K.Rajasinghe and children of Savimath Children's Society on 20/10/2025 at the Sri Salavanodyanaramaya Temple in Diyagama.
