A three-day workshop on training school mediators and establishing mediation units was held recently at the B.P./Ho/Madhya Maha Vidyalaya.
This program, which was organized with the objectives of creating a harmonious and peaceful school system with students who are equipped with conflict resolution skills, using the remaining time for educational activities by resolving disputes within the school itself, creating a happy school with minimal conflicts, and directing future school students to community mediation boards as successful mediators, as well as producing students with mediation skills in the school system and creating a generation of students who see problems and issues positively and have self-respect through generating alternatives in their lives, free from the framed method, was successfully held from 2025.02.05 to 2025.02.07 in the college premises.
This program, which was inaugurated by the Homagama Divisional Secretary Mr. B.A.D.Chinthaka, was attended by Homagama Assistant Divisional Secretary Mr. Chamal D. Thenuwara, Homagama Zonal Education Director Mr. Hemantha Gamage, Homagama Central College Principal, students and teachers of the main college.
The resourcefulness for this program was provided by the Office Mediation Development Officer Mrs. K.D. Himali Katugampala, the Mathugama Divisional Secretariat Office Mediation Development Officer and the Horana Divisional Secretariat Office Mediation Development Officer.
Under the guidance and supervision of the Divisional Secretary, this program was organized and coordinated by the Office Mediation Development Officer Mrs. K.D. Himali Katugampala.
