The seventh program held in conjunction with the International Day of Older Persons was held on 2025/10/02 to create awareness and exchange experiences on environmental conservation related to Plantlore under the patronage of Assistant Divisional Secretary Chamal D. On the instructions and guidance of the Divisional Secretary and Assistant Divisional Secretary, the Homagama Elders' Day Celebration was held in a grand manner on 2025/10/03 at the auditorium of the Homagama Divisional Secretariat, in conjunction with the International Elders' Day.

The event was held with the participation of many distinguished guests including the Honorable Chairman of the Homagama Regional Coordination Committee, Mr. Aruna Panagoda, Additional District Secretary, Mrs. M.N. Kaushalya Kumari, District Planning Director, Mr. S.K. Bandara, Provincial Social Services Director, Mrs. L.A. Samintha Gimani, Kolonnawa Divisional Secretary, Mr. Priyanath Perera, and dances and songs by senior citizens of the Elders' Societies.

At this event, singer Lakshman Rodrigo was felicitated with the "Vruddha Prasadini Abhinandana" memorial, while a memento was presented to Ms. Sujani Madushika Hettiarachchi, who worked in this office for her constant dedication to the victories of the elderly competitions, and prizes were also presented to the competitors who represented the 2025 Provincial Elderly Competitions. This program was jointly organized by the Homagama Elders' Association and the Social Services Division of the Homagama Divisional Secretariat.

The "World Children's Day" program, organized by the Homagama Divisional Secretariat and the "Ekamuthu" Pre-School Teachers' Association in conjunction with World Children's Day 2025, was held successfully on 2025/10/04 at the "Space Park" stadium in Homagama.

Many features such as dances, singing, storytelling, magic shows, and drawing competitions were organized for the happiness, knowledge and entertainment of the children.

For this occasion, the Chief Sanghanayake of Hewagam Korala, Deputy Director of Education (Piriven) of the Ministry of Education, Incumbent of Homagama Purana Viharaya Venerable Madowita Vajira Buddhinayaka Thero, Honorable Secretary of the Hewagam Korala Shasanarakshaka Board, Incumbent of Godagama Purana Viharaya Venerable Kotigala Nandarathana Thero, Honorable Chairman of the Homagama Regional Coordination Committee, Member of Parliament Anura Panagoda, Colombo Additional District Secretary K.N. Mrs. Kaushalya Kumari, Homagama Divisional Secretary B. A. D. Chinthaka, Assistant Divisional Secretary Chamal D. Mr. Thenuwara, Samurdhi Bank Manager Mrs. Sanjeevani Wewelwala, District Early Childhood Development Officer Ms. Dileka Abeynayake, Homagama Bank of Ceylon Manager, "Senadheera Book Shop" Owner, government officials and many other distinguished guests participated in this event.

For the successful implementation of this program, the sponsorship of various institutions including pre-schools, village development societies, Henawatta Samurdhi Community Fund Organization and Samurdhi Division was received.

Under the guidance and supervision of the Divisional Secretary, this program was implemented with the support of office development officers and field officers under the guidance of the Child Rights Promotion Officer K. Prathapage, Child Rights Promotion Officer Ms. Dhammika Swarnaseeli and Early Childhood Development Officer Ms. P.A. Chamari Lakmali.

As part of the series of programs held in conjunction with the International Day of Older Persons, an awareness program on Elder Law was held at the Mawathgama Seva Piyasedi on 10/01/2025, with the concept of Empowered Active Older Persons.

This program was organized by the Elder Development Officer, Ms. M.D.D. Nayomi, with the resourcefulness of Ms. Punya Kudakola, Legal Officer of the Legal Aid Commission of Sri Lanka and with the participation of members of the Mawathgama Maithri Elders Organization, on the advice and guidance of the Divisional Secretary.
