In order to improve child nutrition by identifying the nutritional needs of pre-school children, the Samurdhi Development Department has implemented morning nutrition programs across the island targeting pre-school children. Breakfast for children and weighing of pre-school children were done October 17th at Rilawala village.

An Ayurvedic awareness program about local plants was held on 10/13/2022 for the grade 5 students of Homagama Pitipana Junior College.

On the occasion of the World Children and Elderly Day, Homagama, Kahatuduwa North Grama Niladhari Domain, Samurdhi Kekulu Children's Club members in order to promote savings, giving savings cubes and an enjoyable program for the members of the Samurdhi Community Root Organization on the World Children and Elderly Day, Kahatuduwa North Grama Niladhari Domain, Samurdhi Development Officer Mrs. Thushari Ileperuma. It was conducted under the initiative and organization of Samurdhi Praja Moola Organisation.

A program to guide the children studying G.E.C. (S/E) in Homagama President's College to choose the higher level subject stream was held on 13.10.2022 at that college. About 200 students were given a "Professional Key" psychometric test at the class level.

On the occasion of World Children's Day, with the aim of promoting the savings of Samurdhi Kekulu Children's Club members in Homagama Kahathuduwa South Grama Niladhari domain, a savings cube was given on World Children's Day at Kahatuduwa South Grama Niladhari domain under the initiative of Samurdhi Development Officer Ms. K. Jayanthi and organized by Samurdhi Community Organization.
