Divisional Secretariat - Homagama

On October 16th as the theme of World Food Day, a local food and beverage preparation program titled "Promotion of Local Food and Beverages" was organized for the children and their parents of Dhammodaya and Shiny Star Preschools in Mawatgama Village on the last 19th (19th) Mawatgama. It was held at the Siddharamaya temple.

With the theme of World Food Day on the sixteenth (16th) of October, a local food and beverage preparation program titled "Food Security and Promotion of Local Food" was organized for the community of Rilawala village on the 20th at the "Sanasum Sevana" community hall of Rilawala at the Homagama Community Health Clinic. It was conducted with the contribution of the doctors of the unit, Mr. Nishantha Dilip Ginige and Mrs. Anoja Nishali Herath.

An awareness program was held on 18.10.2022 at Homagama Divisional Secretariat Auditorium regarding remittance of money of expatriate workers according to correct methods. The resources for this are courtesy of the Bank of Ceylon.

With the aim of raising the rural economy based on the concept of rural revival economic central committee, a production training program for processing value added products using local varieties was held on 10/14/2022 at the Divisional Secretariat Auditorium.

In order to improve child nutrition by identifying the nutritional needs of pre-school children, the Samurdhi Development Department targeted pre-school children at the "Flower Kids" model pre-school in Kuruduwatta Grama Niladhari Domain of Homagama Divisional Secretariat Division in conjunction with the program which implemented nutrition programs throughout the island based on the International Day for Eradication of Poverty. Lunch is provided for the children on the last seventeen days (17).
